This blog is about my life, my experiences, challenges, tiny bits of wisdom, and insights I’ve gathered along the way, and also funny stories. I am born and raised Catholic. My experiences have some things in common with others born and raised Catholic, but other things are pretty different from many Catholics I know. Some of the differences are good, and some not so good.
I am still a still a faithful Catholic, despite all the obvious problems that exist in the Church. I received the benefit of an unusual Catholic college education featuring reading authors both in favor and strongly against the Catholic position. This gave me the ability to think critically, as well as understand, and respect the intellect and dignity of those who hold positions in opposition to my own. I think this is the intent of the “COEXIST bumper sticker. If we can listen to each other in peace, and without violence, without anger and hatred, this makes it possible to put our walls down that divide us. I don’t think we are different as we think we are. The biggest enemy of all of us is not each other. It is our pride.
I have several purposes in this blog. I need a creative outlet for my writing and I have not had that so far. I also think that by sharing my past struggles, and how I overcame them, it may help others who may be struggling with similar things. AND, to me, it’s fun !
